The average cost of gas for Ohio drivers has increased again from the previous week, but is still significantly cheaper than it was a year ago.

The average for a gallon of regular gas in Ohio was about $2.29 in Monday's survey from auto club AAA, the Oil Price Information Service and WEX Inc.

That's 7 cents more than a week earlier. But it's down 46 cents from a month ago, after prices temporarily spiked because of a partial shutdown at a refinery. A year ago, the state average was $3.20.

The national average matched Ohio's at $2.29 on Monday, down from about $2.33 a week ago and $3.34 at this time last year.
