Newspaper Says Strickland To Run For U. S. Senate

The Youngstown Vindicator says former Ohio Governor Ted Strickland will run for the Senate next year. Quoting unnamed sources, the newspaper reports the Democrat will run for the Senate seat currently occupied by Republican Rob Portman. Portman intends to run for re-election. If he runs, Strickland joins Cincinnati City Coucilman P. G. Sittenfeld. Democratic Congressman Tim Ryan has also expressed an interest in the race. The Vindicator says Stickland will make an official announcement in February.
