Driver In Fatal Downtown Bus-Truck Crash Indicted
The driver of a pickup truck that authorities say ran a red light and struck a school bus in a downtown crash has been indicted on charges of vehicular homicide and vehicular assault. The Franklin County Grand Jury returned the indictment Thursday against 62-year-old Terrance Trent. Prosecutors say Trent ran a red light and struck a bus carrying three Groveport Madison schoolchildren near the Ohio Statehouse on Dec. 12. The impact of Trent's pickup truck forced the bus into a nearby crosswalk, hitting two pedestrians. A female pedestrian was killed at the scene and a male pedestrian died from his injuries about two weeks later. Trent was indicted on two felony counts of aggravated vehicle homicide and two felony counts of vehicular assault. Court records list no attorney for Trent.
