Group Derides Behavior In Video Of Police Shooting Aftermath

A civil rights group official says footage from a surveillance video that shows the fatal shooting of a 12-year-old boy carrying a pellet gun and the rough treatment of the boy's 14-year-old sister is evidence of how Cleveland police officers fail to protect and serve citizens. A 30-minute surveillance video released Thursday shows an officer shooting Tamir Rice and then his partner shoving the boy's 14-year-old sister to the ground when she runs toward the scene. The shooting occurred Nov. 22 outside a recreation center. The video also shows police handcuffing the struggling 14-year-old and putting her in the back of a patrol car parked next to her wounded brother. An official with ACLU of Ohio says the video shows why there's diminished trust between police and the community.
