Kasich's Lead Tightening

A new independent poll shows a tightening race for Governor in Ohio. The survey of likely voters by Quinnipiac University shows Kasich with a five point lead over Cuyahoga County Executive Ed Fitzgerald. Kasich held a seven point lead over Fitzgerald in November and a ten-point lead last February. The margin of error is three percent. The same poll gives Kasich a 51-percent approval rating. Kasich leads among Republicans and men, while Democrats and women back FitzGerald. The survey did not list Democrat Larry Ealy, who's qualified to challenge FitzGerald in May's primary. The poll of 1,370 registered voters conducted Feb. 12-17 has a margin of error of plus or minus 3 percentage points. Kasich holds his State of the State speech in neighboring Medina (meh-DY'-nuh) on Monday.
