Storms, Subzero Temperatures To Hit Ohio

Ohio is bracing for arctic temperatures unseen in 20 years, as a new round of winter storms starting early Sunday ushers in two days of punishing temperatures and wind chills. Cleveland is making available city recreation centers from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday and Tuesday as warming centers. In Columbus, access to the Ohio Statehouse's underground parking garage will be limited through Wednesday to prevent high winds from damaging the historic structure. The National Weather Service warns of winter storms across much of the state starting at 5 a.m. Sunday, with snow accumulations of 4 to 8 inches. Brutal temperatures of 10 to 20 degrees below zero are to follow Monday and Tuesday, along with dangerous wind chills dipping to between 5 degrees below and 40 degrees below zero.
