Ohio State Smoking Ban Kicks Off With Light Touch
Ohio State University goes tobacco-free starting Monday. Students will return from winter break with a new set of rules in place on one of the nation's most populated college campuses. The new policy forbidding any tobacco use on university property will be enforced through friendly reminders from passers-by, not strict penalties for violators. Teams of student and faculty volunteers have been assembled to roam the campus in two- and four-hour shifts seeking out smokers and asking them to stop. Thousands of informational cards are also being prepared for distribution.
