OSU, Columbus Police Agree On Off-Campus Patrols

For the first time ever, Ohio State University Police has clearance to respond to incidents in the densely-populated neighborhoods near campus. OSU Police and Columbus Police on Wednesday signed a joint jurisdiction agreement that lets OSU officers respond to incidents in the area east of High St. where the majority of students live. For details on the new agreement, WOSU's Steve Brown spoke with OSU Undergraduate Student Government President Taylor Stepp. Click the play button above to hear their conversation.

Steve Brown grew up in nearby Richwood, Ohio and now lives there with his wife and sons. He started his journalism career as a weekend board operator at WOSU while majoring in journalism at Ohio State, where he also wrote for the student newspaper The Lantern and co-founded the organization Students for Public Broadcasting.
