The union representing nearly 700 workers at the Central Ohio Transit Authority delivered a strike notice to COTA today. Transport Workers Union Local 208 President Andrew Jordan says the strike is planned for July 2nd. The union represents drivers, mechanics and other staff at COTA. Officials involved in talks throughout the Spring say at issue is worker wages. If a strike does occur, it could disrupt Red, White and Boom July 3rd. Traditionally, COTA provides rides for thousands of people to and from the downtown event. An extension of the Union's old contract expired in April.
