New Poll Puts Santorum Ahead In Ohio

A new Quinnipiac University poll says Rick Santorum is now the favorite presidential candidate among likely voters in the Ohio GOP primary. The poll released Wednesday says 36 percent of likely Ohio GOP voters favor the former Senator from Pennsylvania, with 29 percent backing former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, 20 percent for for U.S. House Speaker Newt Gingrich, and nine percent for Texas Congressman Ron Paul. The new poll means Santorum, Romney, Gingrich and the now-out-of-the-race Herman Cain have led in recent surveys of Ohio GOP voters. Wednesday's poll also says Mitt Romney polls the best when pitted head to head against President Obama, but still trails him slightly.
