Condemned Ohio Killer Of Son: Delay Execution
A condemned Ohio man scheduled to die next month for the arson death of his 3-year-old son has asked a judge to delay his execution. Death row inmate Michael Webb said his situation is exactly the same as another inmate whose execution is on hold, possibly for months. Attorneys for the 65-year-old Webb asked U.S. District Court Judge Gregory Frost on Tuesday to delay his execution because of issues over the state's execution procedures. Earlier this month Frost delayed the execution of 45-year-old Charles Lorraine of Warren, saying the state has failed to follow its execution policies to the letter as promised last year. A federal appeals court agreed with Frost, and the state has now appealed to the U.S. Supreme Court.
