Joyce Beatty To Permanently Leave OSU

Ohio State University vice president Joyce Beatty is leaving her post permanently as she continues her campaign for Congress. Beatty had taken a leave of absence to run for Franklin County’s new third district against Mary Jo Kilroy, Ted Celeste and Priscilla Tyson. In a letter to staff and faculty, OSU President Gordon Gee said Beatty is leaving her post as vice president for outreach, "Because our efforts in outreach and engagement are so critical and require the full measure of a senior leader's time, and because Joyce's campaign likewise requires her full attention." Beatty was named OSU’s vice president of outreach three years ago at a yearly salary of $320,000, after she left the state legislature.
