OSU Renames Cancer Center To Honor Stefanie Spielman

Ohio State University is renaming its breast cancer center to honor the late Stefanie Spielman. OSU President E. Gordon Gee today announced the naming of the Stefanie Spielman Comprehensive Breast Center. It's to honor Spielman, who died two years ago after fighting a long battle with breast cancer. The center, formerly called the JamesCare Comprehensive Breast Center, offers complete care to breast cancer patients from prevention and screening to treatment. Gee says leading breast cancer researchers at the center will continue their fight to find a cure. "It is our shared vision that the Stefanie Spielman Comprehensive Breast Center will be the place that ends breast cancer once and for all," Gee said. During her struggle with breast cancer, Stefanie and her husband former NFL player and OSU All-American linebacker Chris Spielman raised more than $9 million dollars for research and breast cancer awareness.
