BCI Report: Sheriff Acted Appropriately

The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation says the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office acted properly in handling a case involving a state Senator this summer. In July, the wife of Senator Kris Jordan called 911 but promptly hung up. When an operator called back, Melissa Jordan asked for officers to come to their Powell home because her husband had been drinking, was pushing her around, and brandishing a gun. Police wrote a report but didn’t file charges. It was later revealed that deputies lowered the labeling of the report from possible domestic abuse to disorderly conduct, but it was soon returned to domestic abuse. Deputies say Jordan claims that happened because of old political battles with Delaware County Sheriff Walter Davis, but the BCI report released on Friday says Davis acted and deputies acted appropriately.
