Slots Issue Taken Up Again By Ohio House.

Ohio legislators are holding committee hearings on a plan to bring slot machines to race tracks, and some insist it could take effect, even if voters in November reject a similar plan that lawmakers and the governor approved last year. Meanwhile, tracks owners hope to use this new plan to get a break on taxes and license fees. Ohio Public Radio's Bill Cohen has the first to two reports.

In November, its likely voters will get a chance to decide whether to allow 2500 slot machines at each of Ohio race tracks. But, that's not stopping backers of slots at the tracks from pushing their goal on a separate track. One they believe would be immune from that vote by the people in November.
