Eight children in Franklin County have died since 2007 at the hands of a parent's abusive partner.
Now Franklin County Children's Services has launched a campaign to do something about it.
An ad is currently playing on Columbus radio stations and the agency is printing posters and sending out flyers to alert parents to the dangers of partner abuse. Joetta Polk of Chilren's Services says the agency is also using Twitter and Facebook to reach both single mothers and fathers about potential risks to their children.
Polk says Franklin County Children's services is also teaming up with area churches, hospitals and the YMCA to help warn parents about the importance of carefully choosing a partner.
