Columbus Symphony players to put on two summer pops concerts

For months now Columbus Symphony Orchestra musicians and management have battled about the symphony's budget. Most recently the summer pops concerts were canceled and it's uncertain if there will be a symphony at all next season. Columbus Symphony Orchestra Committee chair, Jim Akins said in an effort to keep the music alive and help raise funds for lost wages the musicians decided to put on a couple of their own pops shows. The concerts are July 11 and 12. Click on the listen icon to hear the interview.
