Attorney General Rejects Ballot Wording from Payday Lenders

Ohio Attorney General Nancy Rogers has rejected proposed language for a ballot issue to repeal the state's tough new regulations on payday lenders.

Rogers today refused to certify the language, saying it fails to fairly and truthfully state the measure.

Payday lenders have said the new law which caps interest rates at 28 percent would force them to leave the state, taking thousands of jobs with them. They want to place the issue before Ohio voters.
