Clarett's Robbery Trial Delayed

The judge in the Maurice Clarett robbery case has delayed the trial because of concerns about Clarett's mental state. The former OSU football star was scheduled to go on trial Monday for robbing a Columbus couple in January.

This week Clarett was arrested for carrying several loaded weapons in an SUV he was driving.

Judge David Fais ruled this afternoon the latest incident causes him to question Clarett's mental health and the judge ordered a psychiatric evaluation for Clarett. The judge also said he's concerned about the impact the publicity would have on potential jurors.

Clarett's attorney's unsuccessfully argued the robbery trial should go forward as planned.

The case was continued until September 18th.
