State Senators Unhappy with Supreme Court Ruling

Two state senators who are both seeking their party's nomination for Ohio attorney general are working together. They promise to pursue a bill to strip Governor Bob Taft of the right to conceal certain policy documents from the public.

Senator Marc Dann, a Youngstown Democrat, and Senator Tim Grendell, a Chester Township Republican, say they're preparing legislation to undo a recent Ohio Supreme Court ruling, which they said clearly crossed the line into legislative territory.

The court ruled against Dann's efforts to force Governor Bob Taft to turn over memos the governor had exchanged with his top staff about investments at the Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation. Dann says the decision would have made "Richard Nixon gleeful."
