Dublin Fires Two Lacrosse Coaches
The Dublin school board has fired two Coffman High School lacrosse coaches in connection with a sexual assault investigation. Dublin Schools spokesman Doug Baker says the board terminated the contracts of Coffman head lacrosse coach Brian Simpson and assistant coach Dustin Pentz. Baker would not give specific reasons for the terminations.
Tennessee authorities reportedly are investigating an allegation made by a Coffman lacrosse player. Police reports indicate the player claims two coaches held him down and another coach assaulted him.
Baker says Dublin's investigation into the matter is over but they continue to cooperate with authorities in Tennessee.
The J.V. lacrosse coach has taken over varsity head coaching duties. Baker says no players have been disciplined.
