Ohio State approves one museum deal, looks to another

WOSU'S plan to locate some of its studios at COSI moved forward Friday.

The Ohio State University Board of Trustees today approved a ten-year lease with COSI. WOSU plans to build television and radio production facilities at COSI.

In an effort to cut costs and raise revenues, COSI has reduced the size of its exhibit space and looked to lease space to outside organizations.

Also Friday, OSU revealed it is looking at taking control of the Jack Nicklaus Museum.

Under the plan, the OSU athletic department would operate the museum, which is now privately run.

Officials say it could be a first step toward the donation of the museum, but not the memorabilia, to the university.

The museum, built in 1997, sits on the OSU campus next to the Schottenstein Center.

Since its opening, it has struggled to attract visitors.
