Funerals set for Ohio guardsmen killed by homemade bombs

Funeral arrangements are set for two Ohio national guardsmen killed in Iraq when a homemade bomb exploded near their Humvee.

The funeral for Specialist Ryan Martin of Mount Vernon was this morning at the Loudonville United Methodist Church.

A funeral Mass for Lieutenant Charles Wilkins the Third of Columbus is scheduled tomorrow morning at St. Thomas Moore Catholic Church on the Ohio State Campus.

Both were assigned to the 216th engineering Battalion. They were killed August 20th near Samarra, Iraq.

Two other Ohio soldiers were wounded in the explosion: Specialist Terry Dean of Hillsboro and Specialist John Rardin Junior of Chillicothe.
