Federal judge says Childrens Services can hold church concert

A Franklin County Children's Services concert at an east-side church can go on as planned Saturday night.

A federal judge Friday rejected claims by the American Civil Liberties Union that the concert is a violation of the constitutional separation of church and state.

Federal judge Algernon Marbley said it was a close case, but Marbley ruled the primary purpose of the event was not to promote religion but to recruit foster and adoptive parents.
