Virginia developer to buy City Center, Tuttle malls

Two of central Ohio's preminent shopping malls have a new owner. The Mills Corporation announced it has bought City Center and The Mall at Tuttle Crossing.

The Mills Corporation's purchase of City Center and Tuttle is part of the Arlington, Virgina company's acquisition of nine regional malls around the country.

The company is buying controlling interest in the malls from General Motors Asset Mnagement for about $1 billion.

Mills corporation spokesman david douglas says the company plans additional entertainment for Tuttle Crossing.

Douglas called City Center a redevelopment project.

Mills owns or operates more than 2 dozen malls and entertainment centers around the country.

The companys expect to close the sales by October 15th.
