Prosecutors: so-called Linden serial rapist attacked 37 women.
A man who police say they linked by DNA to a series of unsolved rapes has been charged with raping 37 separate victims.
A grand jury indicted Robert Patton Junior on 135 charges today including rape, aggravated burglary and robbery.
The 40-year-old was arrested earlier this month after police say a DNA sample he provided while in prison in 2001 linked him to eleven rapes.
After his arrest, police say Patton cooperated with their investigation and more victims came forward. The rapes began in 1987.
Authorities say Patton's DNA sample sat untested for nearly three years because they didn't have the money to pay for an analysis.
An FBI database was finally used to match the DNA to the crimes.
