Anonymous tipster to receive $45,000 in shooting case

An anonymous tipster will get $45,000 dollars for turning over information that led police to a suspect in a series of highway shootings around Columbus, one of which was fatal.

The Central Ohio Crime Stoppers also said that they'll give $15,000 to Conrad Malsom, a Las Vegas man who called police to report seeing suspect Charles McCoy Junior in a casino.

Crime Stoppers President Kevin Miles says Malsom's help was critical but that someone else eventually would have found McCoy and turned him in.

Miles refused to say whether the anonymous tipster is a relative of McCoy's.

McCoy's father turned guns he'd taken from his son over to police on March 12th after someone told them Charles A. McCoy Senior had the weapons.

McCoy pleaded not guilty Monday to a 24-count indictment.
