Ariel Horowitz and Jake Landau Live on Classical 101,10am Friday
It's always nice when young Columbus-area musicians can pursue their musical studies out and about in the world. But it's even nicer when they come back to central Ohio and share with us what they've learned. Friday at 10 am violinist and former Bexley resident Ariel Horowitz slips away briefly from her studies at New York City's Juilliard School to perform live on Classical 101. Ariel will be joined by Jake Landau, a composition student at Juilliard, and will give the first performance of his solo violin Prelude live on Classical 101. I'll also chat with the musicians about the New Albany Symphony Orchestra's upcoming "Songs of Ascent" concert, featuring musical contributions of the Jewish community, including the world premiere of Landau's Florid for violin and orchestra, with Horowitz as soloist.
