David Danzmayr leads ProMusica Chamber Orchestra in two performances of Mozart's Great Mass in C minor this weekend. ProMusica welcomes the Lancaster Chorale, along with soloists Martha Guth, Peggy Kriha Dye, Benjamin Bunsold, and Robert Kerr. If Ms. Kriha Dye's name sounds familiar, you have heard her on All Side Weekend recently with Christopher Purdy discussing the arts scene in Central Ohio, in her role as general manager of Opera Columbus. Danzmayr says he grew to love this Mozart work through his dad, who inspired a lifelong love of Mozart the composer and a lifelong curiosity about Mozart the man. The Saturday evening performance at the Josephinum is sold out, buttickets remain for Sunday at 7 pm at the Southern Theatre. More information is available through ProMusica's website. We spoke about the genius of Mozart and tried to pull the curtain back on what it must have been like to carry the enormous burden and blessing of his unique gifts.
