What Your Favorite Composers Look Like

You know how the music of your favorite composers sounds. But did you know that Mussorgsky was the master of unkempt hair, that at one point in time Ravel wore a jaunty mustache and that Verdi had a distinguished-looking aquiline nose? The great composers' music seems so otherworldly that it's easy to lose sight of the fact that these mere mortals once walked the earth just like we do now, and that, just like us, they had their unique and colorful physical attributes. Some of the world's greatest visual artists have preserved the likenesses of our favorite composers in paintings and drawings that give us a glimpse of what these musical giants looked like and, by way of the artists' interpretations, tell us a little something about their personalities.
