Along with a cash prize, the 23-year-old violinist receives two fully subsidized New York performances, including recital and orchestral appearances. She will make her first Naumburg appearance on Nov. 28 at Carnegie Hallâs Weill Hall.  Copland House Announces Annual, All-Scholarship Creative Workshop and Mentoring Program for American Composers
Clarinetist/composer Derek Bermel, whose work  A Shout, A Whisper, A Trace was co-commissioned for performance in 2010 by ProMusica Chamber Orchestra with the American Composers Orchestra, has been tapped to serve as director of the new initiative.
On the Copland House website, Bermel said that he expects âan intense week of workshops, analysis, inspiration, vision, revision, deconstruction, re-revision, contemplation, and perspiration.â?
