Artist Creates New Design for a Musicians' Chair

An art professor has designed a chair that, he says, could help musicians optimize their performance, according to Wired. David Brothers, an assistant professor at the new Jersey Institute of Technology's School of Art and Design and the chair's designer, says his creation can adjust to the unique physical needs of individual musicians and also to the demands they face in playing their instruments. Brothers also told Wired that he conceived of his chair design not as office furniture, but as performance-enhancing gear:

The design of the chair is conceived as high-tech performance equipment -- like skis, tennis racquets, or racing bikes
