Rosalind Elias and One More Kiss

Mezzo- soprano Rosalind Elias makes her Broadway debut at age 82 as Heidi Schiller in Sondheim's Follies. The production is up and running at New York's Marquis Theater. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OtvdZ47h8y4 Elias made her debut at the Metropolitan Opera in 1954. She sang 687 performances at the Met between 1954 and 1996. Rosalind Elias created the role of Erika in Samuel Barber's Vanessa and Charmian in that composer's Antony and Cleopatra. She was a noted Carmen and recorded extensively for RCA (Verdi Requiem, Madama Butterfly, Rigoletto, Marriage of Figaro and more.)  She's been a leading artist and stage director for nearly sixty years. Much loved in the profession, Broadway is welcoming her now, for her own "second act." Stay tuned.
