Martha Graham Dances Appalachian Spring

Some people have to find their niches in life, others are simply born into them. The latter, I'm convinced, was the case for Martha Graham, the dancer and choreographer who helped define a generation of modern dance. And Graham danced - and danced and danced. In this now classic 1959 video of the beginning of the ballet Appalachian Spring, which Graham choreographed to the music of Aaron Copland, Graham is 64 years old - hardly a spring's chicken in dancer's terms. But note the conviction and grace with which she embodied her role. Splendid. So splendid, in fact, that here are the remaining parts of the ballet: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PTdyDOWtE2Q&feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=91y-NEdTj-g&feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6KIn6xHbSZg&feature=related
