Classical Music Rids British Pedestrian Tunnel of Vandalism
Here's a new twist on the old classical-music-deters-thugs canard. Officials for the British town of Kent have noticed that their only pedestrian tunnel with piped-in classical music also is the only tunnel with no graffiti or other signs of vandalism, according to BBC News. Civic leader Jeremy Kite says the graffiti-free tunnel is bucking a trend:
We weren't getting any of the anticipated graffiti and none of the damage you'd normally expect in an urban tunnel.
