FOUR AUDIO PIECES The annual service of Lessons and Carols from St. Joseph Cathedral, Columbus, is one of my favorite concert events. I look forward to it each year. For the past two years we (Kevin Petrilla, Eric French and myself) have been able to broadcast the service live, and there we were, way in the back of the main altar on Sunday December 6. The Cathedral was packed. The wonderful Cathedral Choir, led by Paul Thornock, was in great form. The music was beautiful and the readings were moving. I'm so glad we were able to offer this to the community. If you missed it, here are a few selections from St. Joseph Cathedral, Columbus, December 6, 2009: Adeste Fidelis [audio:adeste-fidelis.mp3] This is the motet Laetentur caeli by William Byrd (1543-1623) Let the heavens rejoice and the earth be glad.
