Itching for 10 Minutes of YouTube fame?

ONE-OFF EVENT Are you an "amateur" pianist, aged 35 or older, eager to perform for an audience? Would you like to be a judge of such an event? If so, this is for you. Beginning September 1, the Van Cliburn Foundation is hosting its second "Cliburn YouTube Contest for Amateur Pianists."  Judging will be done online beginning November 9 by viewers of the videos posted on the Foundation's YouTube Channel. Voting closes on Nov. 24th. Be sure to take a look at the trailer for They Came to Play, an award-winning documentary chronicling this very competition which gives folks a chance at their dreams. It just may inspire you to submit your own video or to encourage another. The winner receives an automatic entry into the sixth International Competition for Outstanding Amateurs, taking place May 23-29, 2011, in Fort Worth. Here's the video with the highest number of views from those who competed in the First YouTube Competition for Amateurs.
