NPR's Luis Clemens on Diversity in Media

America may be growing in diversity, but the mainstream media, including public broadcasting, face challenges in presenting a broader view and perspective on society and the world around us. Fox Networks Group on Monday announced the creation of Fox Hispanic Media to reach the fast-growing Latino public in the United States.  The creation of separate news and entertainment divisions reflects the profits to be made by reaching Spanish-language consumers, though it doesn’t necessarily bring greater awareness of cultures for one another. NPR's Senior Editor for Diversity, Luis Clemens, discusses strengthening news coverage by building a foundation of diverse experts and sources.
